Taberna romjai, Pompeji, Kr. u. 79

The tabernacle pictured was excavated in ancient Pompeii, which was destroyed during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. The term taverna itself, comes from the Latin taberna, meaning "shop," "inn," and "pub."
